Can I drink the water like at home?

No, it's not advisable to drink tap water while visiting Thailand. We would even suggest using bottle water while brushing your teeth as well.

Is English spoken much in Thailand?

What is the time difference between Thailand and Australia's main cities?

There is a 3 hour time difference between Thailand and QLD, NSW, VIC, & ACT and only a 1 hour difference with WA.

Can I use my phone in Thailand?

Yes, you can if you have International Global Roaming activated by your provider.

Can I access the internet in Thailand?

WIFI is readily available in hotels, restaurants and bars. If you wish you use your existing data plan, it is advisable to know the costs involved from your mobile provider. Voice and video calls can easily be made using messaging applications like Messenger, Line and WhatsApp.

Is the ice safe when used with drinks?

Most tourist locations use filtered water for drinking ice. Ice with holes/bubbles inside, usually indicates that it's been made as drinking ice.

Is our hotel near the nightlife, beach or shopping centers?

Our base hotel is located in the heart of Patong. 2 minutes walk to Bangla walking street. 6 minutes walk to the beach.

What currency is used in Thailand?

Thai Baht (THB) is currency used in Thailand.

Can I use my bank cards in Thailand?

Yes, while cash is the preferred method, hotels, shopping centres, convenience stores and certain restaurants and bars accept most major credit cards. 

However, many businesses will only accept cash as payment so please check before beforehand.

Do I need to carry my passport with me?

While technically you are requested to carry identification with you, it is very important to ensure your passport is locked in your room safe. You should take a photo of your passport and store it on your phone, as well as print a copy. 

Our hotel will happily print you a copy upon request. 

How do I get around Thailand?

Travelling around Thailand is simple, with tuk tuks, taxis, shuttle buses, scooter rentals and private car services all offering affordable options. It's also easy to explore the country on foot, especially in the main resort towns, though taxis can be a more comfortable choice on hot days and are always easy to find.

Do Australians need a visa to enter Thailand?

You do not have to order a visa before travelling to Thailand. Australians and New Zealanders will be granted a 60 day visa upon arrival. 

Can I stay longer than 30 days?

Yes you can! Visit an immigration office 3-5 days before your current visa expires. Fee's and charges apply.
